Recently, I received a small purchase from my store with a little message "Please rush this charm as I need it for a bracelet party i'm going to next week. thanks so much!!!". Wow, was that an understatement. I did rush the order and asked my purchaser to share with me a little bit more about what a "bracelet party" was. It turns out that this was not just a little party where people were trading or gifting charms to each other. It was a celebration of the magic and wonder that a this group of women are creating by being there and supporting each other, through thick and thin. I am so honored that this little purchase has in a small way tied me to such an amazing and inspiring event and such an incredible group of women. Please take a moment to read Kelly's post about The Net, it made me cry it was so moving. If only we all such a supportive network around us, the world would be a better place.

Obama Eyeing Internet ID - Rune of the Day

Today, Obama announced his desire to have an internet ID for every American to enhance online security and privacy. White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt was quoted as wanting to create an "identity ecosystem". They sited the desire to eliminate the need for multiple log ons and passwords but that issue has been sucessfully addressed in the private sector by OpenID and the ability to use your Google and Facebook log ins on a variety of sites. The fact that this project is being assigned to Department of Commerce suggested an aspect of safe guarding credit card information for online transactions, but that problem has been addressed by various secure encryption services, credit card security numbers on the back of cards, and even temporary card numbers issued by the credit card company for online purchases. So what are the real motives behind this Internet ID project? Here is what the Runes had to say:

A lot of the push for this program is actually coming from the Department of Homeland Security and National Security Administration. They could simplfy the process of tracking financial transactions that might be funding domestic and international terrorist operations with a National ID system. By packaging it as a consumer protection system through the Department of Commerce, they make it more palitable to big brother wary citizens.

The mass animal deaths are a wake up call. There are deep changes taking place on this planet that will effect everyone - not just a country or two. More and more people have been waking up to this, but we have not yet reached a critical mass. These mass animal deaths will draw a lot of attention. Look for them to continue and for some very surpirsing results to be announced from the scientists who are studying them.

Rune A Day 2011

My New Year's resolution: 2011 is the year of the Runes. I will finish my book about them. I will launch my Rune Spirits store on Etsy. I will do at least one Rune Reading everyday, and to keep myself honest, I'll post it here on this blog.
